Pixcom Energy Awarded Communication Technology Scope for SHUROOQ 400kV Substation Project
Pixcom Energy LLC is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a mission-critical communication technology scope by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for the SHUROOQ 400kV Substation project executed for Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).
The SHUROOQ 400kV substation is a strategic component of DEWA’s transmission network expansion, supporting Dubai’s growing energy demand and enabling a resilient, future-ready smart grid infrastructure.

Under this award, Pixcom Energy delivered a next-generation IP/MPLS-based communication network designed specifically for high-voltage utility environments. The solution was built using Cisco’s latest carrier-grade routing platforms, incorporating:
- Segment Routing (SR)–enabled architecture
- Unified MPLS transport for protection, SCADA, teleprotection, and operational services
- Core and aggregation network upgrades
- Deterministic, low-latency, and highly resilient communication paths
This architecture enables DEWA to move toward a software-defined, scalable, and operations-friendly grid communication network, while ensuring compliance with utility-grade reliability and availability requirements.
